P.A.I.R.S Trivia Challenge
Trivia Results - May 4, 2012
Introduction
Partners Active In Resource Sharing (P.A.I.R.S.) is a community based and supported program enhancing the educational experiences of students through continuous and effective interaction among community partners. These partnership programs aim to develop and maintain a co-operative relationship between business/industry, community agencies and the school.
History of the Event
In 1997, twenty participants attended a trivia night in the drama room of St. Christopher High School. In the past decade, the PAIRS TRIVIA CHALLENGE has grown to accommodate 54 teams of 8 players at a venue we’ve been fortunate enough to use in the past decade: the Great Hall at the Holiday Inn. Despite its increase in size and its change of venue, the PAIRS Trivia Challenge has had two goals: that all proceeds go to local charities and that all participants enjoy themselves.
Charities
Last year, we raised $25,000 and we hope to match that sum this year. The proceeds for this year’s event will be split equally and used to purchase equipment for patients in the Palliative Care Unit of Bluewater Health and the St. Joseph’s Hospice. This year's goal is to raise money for Infuser Pumps for pain management for Palliative Care and Alternating Pressure Mattresses for St. Joseph's Hospice. The event is being held on Friday, May 4th, 2012 at the Holiday Inn Sarnia/Point Edward.
