Our Donor Walls

Memorial Wall
The Memorial Wall ceremony is held each year on the first Wednesday of May. Because of the number of families who attend this ceremony, the event is held once in the morning, and once in the afternoon.

The non-denominational service is in honour of the people for whom the Foundation received memorial gifts the previous year. Each service is approximately ½ hour long and includes tributes, prayer, singing and the reading of loved ones names.

It is an emotional time for many families but also a time to meet for fellowship with other people who have also experienced a loss.

Each person's name is added to the plaque, in alphabetical order, and the plaques are mounted on the wall in the 2nd floor breezeway between the London Road and the Russell buildings.

Donor Wall
The donor wall is designed to be interchangeable and flexible to accommodate the continued support of our donors. Each gift that a donor makes to the foundation is recorded, a thank you letter is sent and a tax receipt is issued.

Most donors give more than once and the total of their donations continue to grow with each subsequent gift. When the donor's gifts reach the $5,000 level their name is either added to the wall for the first time or if they have reached a new giving category their name is moved into that higher category.

A ceremony is held in the fall of each year to recognize these accomplishments.

Located just inside the front entrance of the hospital, the Capital Wall is an expansive and visible expression of thanks to those who supported the Foundation's three major Capital Campaigns with gifts of $5000 and over:

The Annual Wall

Annual Giving Wall
Located just inside the front entrance of the hospital,  the Annual Wall recognizes donors who have given since 2006 for needs other than those to our Capital Campaigns. Our wall will continue to grow as the number of donors and the size of their gifts increase. As gifts accumulate and donors reach new giving categories they will be moved to the appropriate gift location on the Annual Giving Wall. Cumulative gifts of $5,000 and over are recognized on the wall.
