- Made a commitment to Infrastructure Ontario and MOH & LTC to raise additional $6.5 million for equipment
- We have received tremendous support from our community in reaching our $40 million goal (the community’s share) to build our new hospital. The Foundation now has the challenge of raising $6.5 million for medical equipment and highly specialized technology. The equipment is not paid for by the government. We are pleased to announce that to date we have raised $4.9 million of that goal
- Fiscal year 2010-2011 raised $4.5 million
- We run lean: Our cost to operate was 21% of funds raised. Average for small charities is 26.2% (Canadian Centre for Philanthropy)
- Investment Management Committee oversees $12 million in restricted & unrestricted assets
- Approximately $ 28 million already transferred to Bluewater Health
- $8.5 million in pledges outstanding
- $3.2 million in our endowment fund of which 80% of income allocated & 20% reinvested for sustainability
- We will be giving $3.1 million to the capital project this year
